Gruvi Weekly Digest #12 — A weekly catch up on what we found interesting at Gruvi.
Along with the evolution of ways in which we can consume content, we have also seen an evolution and adaptation of forms to match. While this creates a great, rich ecosystem it also makes choice-making a potentially overwhelming experience- for content producers, for the public, as well as for content distributors. We’d all better hang on for the ride- the rule of content has only just begun.
Snapchat is building an Ads API as it seeks to grow its digital ad business. It’s probably still quite a long way off, but this is great news. Until now, Snapchat has been pretty exclusive with its ad space, letting only a select few larger brands in on the action.
DoP Emmanuel Lubezki has been in high demand over the past few years- both in terms of number of projects, as well as in terms of the complexity of each of them. How much of Iñárritu’s touch (or tyranny, to some) as an auteur relies on Lubezki?
After a huge year in gaming for both AAA and indie developers, and in the beginnig of another promising year, “That Dragon, Cancer” joins the ranks of a new form of videogame: one that is not about the thrill of special covert operations or catching floating goldpieces, but one about life, the human condition and the dark corners of our pshyche.
There is almost always a way to make something good — even better. It seems that certain individuals and groups in the podcast industry are aware of that broad maxim. Better then that, some of them put it to action. Maybe reinventing the wheel is not a good idea, but reinventing some parts of it might just be the right thing to do.
