Gruvi Weekly Debrief – 03/11/17
Today we’re starting a new weekly post, the Gruvi Weekly Debrief. In this new format we’ll recap the topics that we’ve covered on the website over the past week and share company updates.
We started the week with a look at Facebook video marketing. Facebook generates 8 billion video views per day and we want to make sure you capture as many of them as possible in your paid or organic reach! In our post we look at the 4 key factors to consider when preparing your campaign – Dimensions, Sound, Length and Retargeting. We’re working on a series of posts with details on other Facebook ad formats, so keep an eye on the blog in the upcoming weeks.
On Tuesday we had a closer look at the recent announcements by Snapchat and the BBC in which both companies laid out plans for sub-10 minute serialised shows on their respective platforms. With Facebook going in the opposite direction, building up their original program lengths up to “TV standard”, who’s going to win out?
Thursday began another new blog series, If Social Media Decided the Oscars (Round 2). A few years ago we decided to see if we could predict the winner of Best Picture & Best Foreign Film based purely on social media reach and chatter. We successfully predicted The Great Beauty’s success, but put our money on American Hustle for the main prize and lost. We’re back and hoping for a clean sweep. Over the course of the next few weeks we will be having a look at a few of the early contenders.
