Launching your game: How are you influencing your influencer marketing?

‘Influencer marketing’ is becoming more and more of a popular catchphrase. Despite that, it’s hardly scientific and subject to variations in the wider context.

A few months back we came across Stikbold! and we were immediately hooked. Not only did the game prove to be a lot of fun, but also an influencer marketing success story.

The game was created by Game Swing in a process that relied heavily on play testing before the official launch.

We had a chat with Martin Petersen, one of the developers, to find out more about this process, as well as their strategy for influencer marketing. This involved identifying the right influencers, getting through to them and monitoring the response.

Their plan lead to influencers in the field- including PewDiePie– promoting the game. As a result, they created a significant amount of buzz about Stikbold! with minimal costs.
